Planner Overview

Image
After looking at this week and everything that is going on I realized that I may not have a lot of time to get something up on this blog. Because of this I wanted to get something up today so that during the week I won't have to worry as much. In my Child Care Teacher Essentials post I shared that one of my top essentials is some form of  a planner. Today I wanted to give you a closer look at how I use my planner for both personal and work use.  I am currently using the Happy Planner by Create 365, this is my second planner from them and I really enjoy it. I think the next one I get will be one of the smaller ones just because I am realizing how big this one is when trying to keep it out on a counter or take it on planning time along with everything else.  I have really been enjoying using this planner for both personal and work use, having the three separate areas for each day where you can write something down really helps me with planning out wha...

Random Friday: Photography

Image
Its FRIDAY!!!! This week just feels like it went by so slow, maybe it has to do with it being the end of the year for me and getting ready for a new group of kids but boy was it a slow moving week. For me Fridays are always a fun day, its the start of the weekend and it also means more time to do some of my hobbies and just relax. I wanted to keep that trend going on this blog, so I decided to start Random Friday's. I can't promise that each Friday there will be a post but my goals it to do most Friday's. For this weeks post I wanted to share with you one of my favorite hobbies right now and that is photography. Now I am by no means a professional photographer but I really enjoy taking photos of different things around where I live. I tend to go out and take photos in shifts, normally when the season are changing or ...

Do you just play all day?

When I tell people that I work in child care their first question is what age and then the comment of oh that has to be so much fun playing with them all day. And yes it is fun playing with them during the day but its not all we do. Yes having the kids play is a huge part of their day and learning but they still do structured activities to where they need to pay attention to what is going on and follow directions. Even with infants they have activities that happen during the day to where they are learning a new skill and have rules with it to try and follow. Play for a young child is such a important part of their daily life, they learn a lot from play; weather it be social skills, fine and gross motor skills, self help, reasoning, and using their imagination. If you have ever just watched a child play its amazing what they can come up with, even as infants it always surprises me what they are able to come up with. I think there is stigma surrounding the child care ...

Back to school time, the time of new folders, Kleenex boxes for the classroom, and stressed out parents and teachers trying to find enough time in the day to get everything done before that first bell rings on the first day of school. For many people back to school time is just as crazy if not worse than the October to January holiday line up. If you are a teacher you need to make sure your room is ready before the first bell of the new school year rings, that everything and I mean everything is labeled, that meet the teacher night not only happened but you where able to say at least hello to all your new families, and lets not forget making sure you don't mix up the Mona and Frozen songs. :) On the other side of the field you have the parents you are trying to make sure their child or children have their school supplies, from the colored folders for each class, to the number two pencils. While also making sure their child(ren) have some form of current back to school clothes, ...
